Despite the challenges, we had a great year!

Millbrook organised 24 conferences in total. Of those, 16 took place online, five were in-person only, and three were hybrid taking place across Manchester, Nottingham, Surrey, Cardiff and London. We were delighted to be able to hold face-to-face conferences again after a year of online-only events. It was fantastic to be able to catch up with familiar faces and enjoy the interaction and benefits of in-person education once again.

Millbrook’s conferences received a total of 8,695 registrations from across the world in 2021. We reached China, the USA, Saudi Arabia, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Germany, Spain, Croatia, Romania, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, India, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and many more countries. It makes us very proud to know that we have helped educate thousands of HCPs across the world, allowing them to provide the very best care to their patients. Ultimately, the provision of first-class medical saves lives and we love being a small part in enabling this positive impact on society.

In addition, Millbrook were finalists in the ABPCO Excellence Awards for our work in transforming an annual, multi-track, three-day, face-to-face meeting into a highly successful digital meeting in 12 weeks. You can read more about it here.

We also launched the Millbrook Hub, a single event platform to showcase our virtual events. Allowing registered delegates to use one link only to access all upcoming Millbrook e-conferences. In addition, the Hub contains all the content from past e-conferences and webinars. Currently, the Hub has a library of 19 conferences and over 90 hours of education available to watch on-demand. Finally, our team grew by two, as we welcomed back Tilly Broadbent as conference coordinator, who has worked with us in the past, and we welcomed Chloe Tyler who joins us as administration assistant.

We wanted to share these milestones and statistics with all the people that helped to make this happen. Whether you have been a delegate at one of the conferences we have organised, a member of faculty, a course director, or a sponsor, thank you for supporting us this year.

The last two years have taught us so much, we feel ready for a new challenge in 2022 and we’re going to make this our best year yet.

Following a busy couple of years, three new roles have been created to streamline the business and prepare for further expansion over the next twelve months.

Tilly Broadbent joined as administrative assistant to support conference coordinators and executive conference managers. Tilly graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a first-class degree in event management in 2017. Since then, she has spent two years travelling across Australia and recently returned home to continue her career in event management.

Sarah Moore joined as business development and marketing manager, focussing on digital marketing and seeking opportunities to further expand the business. Sarah attained a first-class degree with honours in Business and Management at De Montfort University and previously worked within marketing for a specialist healthcare event management business. Sarah has additional experience in marketing across a range of sectors from construction to finance.

Matt Daly will join the team in February. In 2019 Matt spent six months at Millbrook and we are delighted that he is re-joining the team. Matt, previously the owner of a conference management company whilst living in Australia, also has extensive experience as a freelance event manager.

As well as the recently created roles, Dominic Legate has recently moved into a new role as operations and finance director. Dominic will oversee the day to day company processes and will be actively involved in the business development programme whilst continuing with his role as finance manager.

In addition to our new team members, we have welcomed one executive conference manager back from maternity leave. Rebecca Hopper returned to work in September following the birth of her baby girl in October 2018. Two of our team members, Lizzie Head and Emma Robinson, are both currently on maternity leave and are due back to work in 2020.
